Now that Valentine’s Day is over we can focus on Easter candle making projects.

How did your Valentine’s Day candles go?  I hope you had a lovely day!

There is no surprise that when it comes to Easter we think of eggs!  Of course we do.  So how can you make Easter candles?

Personally I feel that the best way is to buy an egg mold and make your candle that way.

I know several people who like to mold their egg candles and they do this by making a layer of melted wax in tray first and when the wax is still a little soft they hand mold it into an egg shape then push their wick through.

Decorating your egg candles

There are so many ways you can do this.  You can:

*  use dimensional glues

* paint patterns on them

* dip them in water that has colored candle dye floating on top

* embellish them in many different ways with lace, paper, metal objects etc.

Keep in touch as we head towards Easter and see what ideas we come up with.

Cheers and enjoy your hobby.

If you have any ideas you would like to share please add your comments.

    Hi,
    i just wanted to make a sugestion as you are talking about egg shaped candles, my mum uses egg shells as moulds!
    they actually look really good and best of all are free!!!
    you have to make a hole in one end of the egg, a small pin prick hole in the other and blow the egg out first.
    hope this helps someone!

    Hi, I was wondering how the candle is made once you have the blown egg. Would you like to share that? I know of blown eggs being used for other things like decorated eggs, but unsure how to make candles of them.

    hi,
    we put the wick through the egg, sealing the small hole end with putty. then put them into an egg box for stability. tie the wick around a cocktail stick/pencil then fill with the wax. once the wax is cooled and hardened, break the eggshell off and you have a finished egg shaped candle.
