Selecting fragrances for your candle making
Categories: Candle Fragrance
Fragrances are a personal choice, don’t you think?
There are many things to consider when you are choosing your fragrances and your choices would I am sure be motivated by a different reason if you are making candles for home or if you are making candles for a money making venture. Votive candles are some of the most popular scented candles, whereas some of the fancy theme candles are not scented at all.
For Business
Matching color and scents
When you are making candles for your business the idea is to match the colors of the candles to the scent of the candle, or the other way around, whichever you think the most appropriate for your style. If you have candles in the earthy tones it is quite likely you would choose a candle fragrance like sandlewood or similar, whereas if you are making a red candle you might choose strawberry or another fruity type scent.
Matching scents to the purpose of the candle
If you plan on making candles for the aromatherapy niche you would probably be looking at using colours that are mellow in tone and adding any of the range of aromatherapy candle fragrances like lavender or rosewood.
Fragrances for home
Having read the reasoning in the earlier paragraphs a person who is making candles for home could use the same line of thought when choosing their candle making fragrances or they may choose their favorite scent to go with their favorite color of candle and that might not necessarity mean making what could be called a saleable match. And of course, that is OK. It is your choice and as long as you are happy with it that is the most important thing. Well, as long as you enjoy making them as well.
Have fun mixing and choosing, it is all part of the game. For more information on candle making visit http://candlemaking4u.com
